Hashed On Your Device
Your password is converted to an anonymous fingerprint by your own browser before anything happens.
Free Tool · Password Breach Checker
Billions of passwords from past data breaches circulate freely, and attackers try them everywhere, automatically. Check any password against the public breach database in seconds, privately: the password itself never leaves your browser.
Privacy-safe by design · only an anonymous 5-character fingerprint prefix is ever sent, never your password
How It Works
Checking a password should never mean revealing it. Here is exactly how this stays private, in plain language.
Your password is converted to an anonymous fingerprint by your own browser before anything happens.
Just the first 5 characters of that fingerprint are sent. The database returns hundreds of candidates and the match happens on your device.
Checks run against Have I Been Pwned’s public Pwned Passwords database, billions of real leaked passwords.
Found means attackers already have it on their lists. Not found is a good sign, with honest caveats.
If it is breached: stop using it, change it everywhere, and generate a strong replacement with our free generator.
One password is a symptom. Unique passwords, a manager and MFA are the cure, and we set all of it up.
Why Breached Passwords Matter
The danger is not the site that leaked. It is every other account where that password, or a close cousin, still works.
Attackers load leaked passwords into bots that try them on email, banking and business logins around the clock.
One breached shopping account plus reuse equals a breached email, and email resets everything else.
Summer2023 leaking means Summer2024 is guessed in seconds. Variations are not new passwords.
A breached personal password reused at work hands attackers your email, files and invoices.
Nothing announces that your password is on a list. Checks like this one are how you find out first.
Multi-factor means a leaked password alone still fails. It is the single highest-value fix after unique passwords.
How It Works
Test the passwords you rely on most, starting with email.
Change breached and reused passwords, strongest and most important first.
A password manager makes unique passwords effortless. We set it up for you or your team.
MFA on email, banking and business systems makes leaked passwords useless.
Thirty seconds tells you if a password is burned, and we handle everything that comes after.
Why Orca

Questions
Yes, by design. The password is hashed into an anonymous fingerprint inside your browser, only the first 5 characters of that fingerprint are sent, and the matching happens on your device. Your password never travels anywhere, and we never see it.

Stop using it immediately, change it on every account that uses it or anything similar, starting with email, and turn on MFA. Our free password generator makes strong replacements in one click.
It is a good sign, not a guarantee. A password can be weak, reused or exposed in breaches that have not surfaced yet. Unique passwords plus MFA is the real protection.
Password checks run here anonymously. Email-address exposure is different, and it is something we review with you properly as part of an account security checkup, including business domains.
Yes. We assess breach exposure across your staff accounts, then fix what it finds: resets where needed, a company password manager, and MFA everywhere it counts.
No. Nothing you type in the checker is sent to us or stored. Only if you submit the contact form does your result summary, never the password, come with your message.
